When its a Hatchlings Cloth Nappies Deluxe wet bag that's when!
Before I go on... so sorry that its been quiet on the blog front - we have had the worst run of illness in our household, the joys of toddlers germs. Anyway its made getting on here impossible* so I apologise. Anyway, back to wet bags...
A few weeks ago (ok probably months ago now, as I said LOTS of illness..) I posted this photo on my Matilda's Mum facebook page...
This package brings much excitement and just a little trepidation - my first product review! What could it be?? |
Deluxe wet bag by Hatchlings Cloth Nappies |
You see Liz from Hatchlings posted on her facebook page looking for people to review her products on their blog - after a bit of prodding from my sister I offered to give it a whirl and here we are!
Now to be straight with you, Hatchlings Cloth Nappies sent me the wet bag for free - just so you know. But to be honest that has nothing to do with what I think of it.
You see, I am a fan of a good wet bag, I even give them as presents for friend not using cloth nappies, they are that handy.
I have quite a few and depending on how they go I use them for different things - nappies obviously, but also to transport wet swimming clothes and dirty clothes at day care or on holidays, to carry wet face washers instead of disposable wipes and to keep sandy shoes separate in the day care bag for example.
Usually the ones I really like get the hard yakka jobs like nappies and swimmers and the less effective ones get the rest.
So the Hatchlings Deluxe Wet bag? Well its definitely a hard yakka one! Its great.
I love the material, its so soft and... deluxe. It really is. Its very pretty without being overly 'girly' for my liking and it can handle a day at day care no worries.
Its great at keeping the smells in as well - this is a must for a wet bag that is going to handle a good long day out and about. A day at day care is a good test of this and this wet bag has handled it perfectly.
The thing I like most about it is how it hangs out to dry. The lining is sort of separate (can you tell I am not a sewer??) to the outside of the bag meaning you can stretch it out (see the photo below) and dry it really well. None of my other wet bags can do this, which means they can often take longer to dry.
If you were in a damp climate these bags would be great as I can imagine some of the others getting a little funky if they didn't dry properly.
The gorgeous wet bag hanging on the line to dry. |
One small catch with these wet bags - I don't think it could withstand a 'hot' (60C) wash - which I do for my nappies every now and then, having said that I rarely have wet bags in those washes so it really shouldn't be a problem and besides I would take the ability to hang out the way it does over washing it in a hot wash any day.
The only negative I have with this bag is that they are temporarily unavailable :( As with so many small businesses this one relies on a hard working Mumma who has taken a break for a few weeks - but never fear, they will be back after 18 August 2013.
While this wet bag may have been a freebie, I will definitely be purchasing others from Hatchlings Cloth Nappies in the future - if not for me for those of my gorgeous friends expecting.
So how did I go with my first product review?? Was there something else you were looking for? Something I didn't cover? Please - let me know!
Oh and as for the little * at the beginning... if Apple and Google would make friends and make it easier for me to blog in the iPad I wouldn't have this problem! Grrr ;)
